FAQ
Q: What does beer come in?
A:
Most domestic beers come in either a 1/2 BBL(15.5 gallons) or 1/4 BBL (7.75 gallons); where as most imports only come in 50 Liter (about 13 gallons) kegs. Some very expensive imports ($100+) com in 30 Liter kegs.
Q: What do I need to tap one and how much is it?
A:
99% of all North American Brewers use the same keg coupler ( US Sankey). We will load you a tap for a $30 Cash/Check Deposit or a $35 Credit Card Deposit with only $30 returned to you. THERE IS A $5.00 SERVICE FEE FOR USE OF THE CREDIT CARD ON A TAP DEPOSIT. Other than that there is no rental fee if it is returned within 72 hours.
Q: What is the keg deposit?
A:
It is now $30.00 a keg, up until Fall of 2007 it was $10.00 per keg.
Q: How many 12oz beers are in a keg?
A:
Well there is about 7 cases in a 1/2 and 3.5 cases in a 1/4.
Q: How long does the keg last when taped?
A:
Optimal flavor is less than 24 hours. After that it starts to oxidize and/or go flat.
Q: Does the keg need to be kept cold?
A:
All domestic kegs are brewed cold, shipped cold and stored cold. Therefore you need to keep it cold until you are done with it. We recommend about 5 bags for a 1/4 and 7 for a 1/2 for about a 4 hour party.
Q: Can I take unused kegs back?
A:
No, once you buy it it is yours. Expect if there is a decfect in the product or keg, which is subject to inspection and testing.
